Anyone even slightly interested in endurance sports likely has heard of Dean Karnazes. You might not know him by name but you’ve probably heard of some of his feats and attempts at endurance records. In the last year he attempted, and completed, 50 marathons in 50 days in 50 states…to give you an idea of what this guy is about.
As a runner I found the book incredibly interesting and insightful. It is well written and an easy read. Karnazes is a polarizing individual in the world of endurance sports, but as a fan of human accomplishments I didn’t find the criticisms warranted after reading this book. It may not inspire you to sign up for a 100 mile run; however, the shear magnitude of the accomplishments when compared to what most of us do for a workout is simply mind-boggling. Take a look at this one and I assure you that you won’t be disappointed.
