The English Springer Spaniel is a true upland specialist. This hardworking breed has been described as an athlete by day and fireside family companion by night.
In the field, the English Springer is an enthusiastic hunting partner that efficiently quarters and tracks upland game. Traditionally used in the pursuit of pheasant, chukar, partridge and grouse, the Springer has also gained recent notoriety in the blind as a waterfowl dog.
A medium sized breed, the Springer usually measures around 20 inches at the shoulder and usually weighs between 40 and 50 pounds. The Springer is built for endurance in the field and to cover rough ground with agility and speed. (Photo Courtesy of our friends at Pine Shadows)
