| Clumber Spaniel
The Clumber Spaniel is another of the
ancient European hunting breeds, but there is some dispute as to its
origins. Some theorists say the Clumber has origins in France and
some say that the breed has origins in England.
But no matter what the Clumber's
origin, Clumber owners claim that no other breed will return the
same amount of loyalty a Clumber gives an affectionate master both
at home and in the field. Unlike others of the sporting breeds, the
Clumber requires only a moderate amount of exercise and is
entertained by the occasional game of fetch. The Clumber is not
dumb, despite its large and "dopey" appearance. On the contrary,
this breed is highly intelligent, although slow moving.
