Weimaraner

Named after the Weimar region of Germany, the Weimaraner is yet another of the versatile breeds. With tremendous durability, speed, courage and a natural tracking ability, the Weimaraner was the preferred breed of the noble class in Germany through the 19th century.

This highly intelligent breed thrives on activity and needs tremendous time, space and attention. The Weimaraner has experienced increased popularity in recent years, and as a result, has had many of its inherent hunting qualities eliminated. It is still possible to find a true, versatile hunting Weimaraner, but the task will require tremendous research into the breeding.
